Just got a new computer and thought I could use my current internal CDRW/DVD…but the cables are different?
Is there still a way to use this internal CDRW/DVD? It is looking for the standard PIN cable…
The new pc has probably SATA units (look here at the cables http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA ). Your old combo is PATA ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AT_Attachment ). To use it just plug the old cable (the one which was plugged in the old pc to your combo) in the new one. Don’t forget to plug in the power connector http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molex
