Installing Apple Power Mac G4 MDD Power Mac G4 CPU (Gigabit Ethernet)?
I want to upgrade my old processor Power Mac G4 (Gigabit Ethernet) 'S. It currently has a Dual Processor at 500 MHz, and I want to upgrade to about 1 GHz. I found some really CPU Cheap 1 Ghz Dual eBay, but let withdrew from all MDD (Mirrored Drive Doors) G4S. Is the CPU is compatible with my G4 MDD?
I do not think so. GigEther PowerMac systems use a different logicboard the MDD, and I think they are compatible. However, I have little experience with the office G4 and I can not say for sure. I recommend that you see on the MacNN. Com forums (it's free to create a folder and is not spam or something) and / or the Apple forum on craigslist. There are many Mac experts on new and old school in both houses and not know if it would work or not, but also be able to give you some tips on how to get everything configured properly (if possible).
