It would be a 2.66Ghz quad-core Nehalem 3.0Ghz play a game?

I want a team that can deal with new advances in technology games for a while. Meaning I have to get the best Graphics Card and processor speed. Is the Graphics Card, but I am confused with the CPU speed. I want a Mac Pro (the $ 2499 one) and I realized that it has a 2.66Ghz "Quad-core" Nehalem processor.
