Voip Phone
I have a VoIP phone into a Cable Modem and have had static on my phone. What could be the cause?
Sometimes there is absolutely no static and the call is fine. Other times, stand still for about 2 seconds and is repeated often. If only cells escape? Could it be a problem with the VoIP equipment? Could it be cell phones interfere with some thing? Or perhaps another reason?
Well, that's the problem most of us have with VoIP … but do not be discouraged …. call Your VIP … and solve the problem … Here's an example I had to do to get there ….. your VoIP adapter on the network to avoid problems: 1. Connect VoIP adapter to a free port on the router of the existing network / switch 2. Add your adapter a static IP address of your router / switch. either to a router Linksys WRT54G, assign the adapter a static IP address of 192 .168.1.130, the gateway is 192.168.1.1 (This is the IP address of Linksys), subnet is 255.255.255.0 and the DNS is used by your ISP. If you do not know, you can use a DNS server at level 3. for example, 4.2.2.1 3. Now go to your router and find the DMZ settings. Select this option and enter the static IP address of the adapter just made. for example, 192.168.1.130 4. For those of you who are a little more knowledge of the network and must use ports instead of the DMZ, the Packet8 ports are dynamic. They are always changing. You will need to submit the TCP and UDP ports 5060 to 65,534 in May 8889. If, after using VoIP (broadband), you see realize that their is an echo, or Perhaps one way conversation, or possibly that you lose your Internet connection for the adapter, the router on and off again any firewall or SPI. If this does not solve the problem, you may have to revert to the factory and the place of BPG510 before your router / switch. The placement of a 310/410 adapter before the router is not an option, it is. Now the ports are opened to allow the adapter to work no problem is expected. LOL! Some notes: If you use the adapter BPG510 to make changes, connect a computer to a first, and then type 192.168.88.1 ask password. The password is "admin" without quotes. Then change the WAN IP address to which the above example. You do not want to change IP address of the LAN. As the static IP address in the range of Router, as I suggested. When you connect to the router and all is done, then the computer can be plugged into a different port on the router and still access the BPG510. Instead of 192.168.88.1 which is the address He gave new WAN. for example, 192.168.1.130. You can always connect a computer directly to the LAN port and if BPG510 192.168.88.1 you wish. Using the 310/410 adapter, there is no WAN configuration. Would have to change the settings for the LAN IP address you want your router.
